What does the term biomass mean?
What contribution does biomass currently make towards the energy system?
"Biomass includes the organic substances of living nature, either as living or dead biomass." (WGBU 2009, p. 376). Thus, the term biomass covers all organic substances that are not of fossil origin. The term "biogenic resources" is used analogously in this part of the course.
